Room 14. The relics of Giuseppe Montanelli (Fucecchio, 1813-1862)

The room, set up in 2017 after a long restoration work, is dedicated to the exhibition of the memorabilia of the patriot, politician and fighter for the independence of Italy Giuseppe Montanelli which his widow, Laura Cipriani Parra, wanted to donate to the Commune of Fucecchio upon his solemn funeral in 1862. The uniform as Captain of the Pisan University Guard, the gown he wore as Professor of Law, and the three-coloured sash, symbol of his political activity, are exhibited.
